Gerald G. Christoffersen Endowed Scholarship

Criteria:

Recipient shall be in the upper 10% of their graduating class and have a GPA of at least 3.25.

Gerald was born in a farmhouse on Mirage Flats south of Hay Springs, Nebraska on April 20, 1937. After attending CSC for one year he enlisted in the U.S. Army. Upon his discharge he returned to CSC where he graduated Cum Laude in 1961 with a degree in business education. After working for Burroughs Corporation for 2 1/2 years he was hired by CSC as the comptroller. Chris quietly helped needy college students with challenge loans that were forgiven if certain grades were met (and they always were). He was extremely generous and was a friend to all. In 1993 he received the Distinguished Service Award for outstanding service to Chadron State College. Gerald retired after 26 years as Chief Financial Officer. Gerald passed away on July 26, 2000.
